Easy Exercises To Lose Weight Fast At Home

easy ways to lose weight at home

Learn a few exercises that will help you quickly lose weight without having to hit the gym

We’ve all heard that exercising is one of the best ways to lose weight. However, many people just don’t know where to get started when first beginning to exercise. Others dread going to the gym or it’s just not practical for them. In this post, we’re going to discuss some exercises you can do at home that will help you burn fat and lose weight fast at home. While some of these do require that you have or purchase a piece of equipment, once you have the necessary stuff, you can do the corresponding exercise repeatedly.

Running

One of the best ways to burn calories is to just go run; whether it’s outside or on a treadmill at home. While it is a lot of work and will leave you sweaty and tired at the end, a run is one of the fastest ways to burn calories fast. A study showed that running on a treadmill will burn 25-39% more calories than doing kettlebell swings at the same level of exertion.  Studies have also shown that running at intervals or varying your runs will help you burn calories even more effectively. So don’t just run the exact same three miles every time; mix it up! You could try a Fartlek routine, where you first jog to warm up, then switch between sprinting for a short period followed by jogging for a longer period. You also could sometimes just go to the track or a field and run sprints with breaks in between.

Jumping Rope

Jumping rope is a full-body workout that requires stamina, gets your heart rate up, fires up your quads and glutes, and engages your core to keep you stable. It also burns about 300 calories per 30 minutes.

Strength Training

When you hit your 30’s, your metabolism starts to slow. Lifting weights can help to rev it back up, as well as help you build muscle. Having more muscle means you have less fat, as your metabolism runs higher, which leads to more calories burned and fat lost.  Lifting weights also will help prevent osteoporosis, as your bones grow stronger in response to demands placed on them.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing not only is a great way to burn calories, it also works as stress relief as you pound the bag over and over again. While kickboxing may seem simple, it’s a great way to work your entire body, from driving kicks with your legs to powerful jabs, crosses, hooks, and uppercuts with your arms. It also requires good, fast footwork, coordination, and endurance.

Spinning

Whether you ride a stationary bike or a real one, spinning is a great way to burn calories. It forces the biggest muscles to work really hard, which in turn sets off hormones to product more muscles, which helps burn fat across the entire body. Having good form and working your core to make spinning a full-body workout.

Elliptical

While doing the elliptical machine at a leisurely pace may not achieve much, if you push yourself and really get your blood pumping, the elliptical can be an effective way to burn calories and lose weight.

Climbing Stairs or Using The StairMaster

Climbing stairs may not seem like a workout when you just climb the occasional set of stairs, but if you repeatedly climb stairs or use a StairMaster, it can be a great way to burn calories. Steps are designed to be short so that you have to engage additional muscles, like your glutes, quads, and calves, to bring your entire body up.

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

HIIT, or High Intensity Interval Training, is perhaps the most effective way to burn calories. We’ve discussed how interval training has been shown to burn more calories than consistently exercising the same way. HIIT is just interval training taken to an extreme, where you do different exercises for a set interval with a short break in between, really pushing yourself.
